Carrie Eskenazi

Meet Carrie

My name is Carrie Eskenazi, and I am the owner of Carrie Eskenazi, LLC and Integrated Speech. With many years of experience in speech-language pathology and sensory integration, I have worked with hundreds of individuals and families to support communication and enhance learning. My ultimate goal is to provide services tailored to each person's unique needs and to help them enhance their brain-body connection.

My Story

I studied Communication Disorders as a post-baccalaureate student at the University of Washington and completed a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology at CSU Hayward in 2003.  Since then, I have worked with children and adults in various settings, including hospital, skilled nursing, private practice, regular education, and special education.  In addition to my Speech-Language Pathology training, I received a master’s degree in Music from UC Santa Cruz in 1998.

I have a natural curiosity and a love of learning, and I continued my education by studying complementary modalities.  In 2017 I attended the Art of Teaching Preschool at the Rudolph Steiner College.  Between 2019 and 2023, I received extensive training in sensory integration.  I completed Brain and Sensory Foundations: Level I and Level II with Sonia Story, studying assessment and treatment techniques for neurodevelopmental movements and reflex integration.  In 2023, I completed Foundations of Learning and Assessment of the Foundations with Nina Gallwey, Educational Specialist and Waldorf Educator, deepening my understanding of educational supports, neurodevelopmental movements, and assessment of primitive and postural reflexes.  Since 2019, I have incorporated sensory integration into my practice and have seen exceptional progress as the whole child is supported in growth and change.

For relaxation, I enjoy many outdoor activities, including hiking, tai chi, and gardening. I am an avid knitter, a musician, and a singer-songwriter. From 2016-2020, I served on the Board of Directors, danced, and designed costumes for Unity Drum and Dance. From 2022-2024, I served on the Board of Directors for Ashland High Arts Advocates (AHAA), whose mission is to support the arts in the Ashland school district.
